About the Book "Inspirations of Grace" and excerpts
Inspirations of Grace
Let this Christian poet's book take you
on a journey as you search your heart.
What is the origin or source of your
hope. peace, encouragement, love?
Searching for rescue? Freedom to
live? Revival and recovery? Search
for Truth? Need for healing? Or
maybe you just want to lift up praises
with your heart.

"Inspirations of Grace" wasn't
created by design and planning by the
author.  Rather, it is a compilation of
inspirations written in response to his
everyday world of experiences.
Whether it was a personal situation,
observation of real life going on, or
sensitivity to an insight, this collection
was Clyde's response to listening to
the spirit of the Lord in his life.

Unchained Spirit

Chasing rainbows of impossible dreams,
arriving at visions without destinations.
Prisoner chained and shackled by memories,
broken promises of this world's glories.

Cries for comfort and hope
resonate as deafening echoes of silence
in the emptiness of a broken heart.
Search for hope, where to start?

Life clinging to the edge of desperation,
cascading into canyons of despair.
Captured spirit at the great divide.
Weakened, can't cross, no strength inside?

Surrounded by rivers deep, mountains high.
Only one way to span the great divide.
Freedom from binding chains.
Only a personal decision remains.

The only path to salvation was
stained on the Cross by the Artist's brush.
The first color of His work, red
for the blood His Son shed.

Welcome the Artist into your heart.
Red turns white, as pure as snow
Unchained spirit from the purest bath
Freed to cross this eternal path.

I'm not sure what made me think abut the Grand Canyon, but I had this
picture in my mind of someone standing on the edge of the canyon
searching for rescue across the divide.  But where to start looking for
hope?  This scene was a reminder that no matter our circumstance or
state of being, God is waiting with outstretched arms, to bridge the gap
with the Cross.

I'm Not Broken Yet

Get so feelin' down
weak 'n weary.
Pushed 'round, run 'round.
Can't get a grip.
Torn apart inside.
It's a crazy ride.

But I'm not broken yet.
Stubborn independent,
givin' up control?
My spirit is too strong.
Do it all alone?
Do it on my own?

But I'm not broken yet.
Regret and fret,
goin' down the tubes?
Why do I keep holdin' on?
Same, same, same old stuff.
Have I had enough?

Come and break my will.
I've had my fill.
Tired of dead end streets.
Rescue me, rescue me.
Bring me to your place
of life changing grace.

I keep hearing about people battling this world.  I did the same.  But
what a new world opens up when I allow myself to be broken so God
can bring me to an eternal place of rescue.  It took a while to discover
that my own strong will and prideful spirit stood in the way of receiving
and enjoying the blessings and hope only He can give.

Meet the "voice" of Inspirations of
Grace
Jay Peavler from Bakersfield, Ca.
Jay has been a mentor, friend, and discipler in
my life. As he has touched the lives of so many
people who have crossed paths with him, I
know he will touch more through his voice. The
audio recording of "Inspirations of Grace"
comes to life through Jay's reading.  The same
passionate love God has for us is conveyed
through in these poems. . May you also be
touched by the heart of a loving God from his
inspired readings.
