Masterpiece in the Making From the innocence of childhood to the longings of a foolish heart. What is this desire never satisfied as it discovers this world has lied? We seek an unattainable perfection, chasing what this world offers only to be left longing for more, never sure of what's in store. An artist breathes life into his vision with each stroke of a brush. The canvas does not resist his touch as each color adds much. Art does not become a masterpiece until it reaches out to touch lives, revealing treasures to the heart and eyes, not hidden by any disguise. As God is Artist and Master Designer we are His workmanship, a living masterpiece in the making reaching out for the world's partaking. That desire and yearning in our hearts is to be a canvas for the Artist, transforming into His good creation with a life-changing message of salvation. It doesn't take much to remind me daily of how imperfect I am. This world seems to have an insatiable appetite for self-improvement. One day I was thinking about God as being the Creator and Artist of creation. I realized I needed to see myself as His canvas, and only then could I become shaped into the masterpiece He wants me to be. |
